Change in Status
Life happens, and sometimes you need to make benefit changes outside of Open Enrollment.
If you experience a qualifying life event, you have 60 days to make changes to your benefits. Starting July 1, 2023, the window to make changes related to a life event will be 30 days. The changes you make must be consistent with the event.
Submit your Qualifying Life Event form in Workday as soon as possible to avoid paying retroactive premiums. Contact Team Member Services at 1-855-432-MIKE (6453), Option 2, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Central time for questions regarding your life event.
Qualifying Life Events
- Change in employment status, such as part-time to full-time (31 days to enroll)
- Birth/adopting of child
- Divorce/legal separation
- Gain/loss of other coverage for you or a dependent
- Beginning/end of domestic partnership relationship
- Death of a family member
Some documentation may be required. Acceptable forms of documentation may be a marriage certificate, divorce decree, benefit confirmation statement with dates, employer letter with dates, etc.
